Alsace style Wood painting

About Marie-Christine

Marie-Christine Guernier is passionate about wood painting and water painting. She learnt the traditional painting fashion from Alsace in the early 1990s when she settled in Altkirch, South of Mulhouse. She attended the local community school which had a wood painting workshop and started to develop an artistic flair for wood painting. Many years later she eventually explored water painting techniques where she came into her own. Marie-Christine will be visiting Sydney in 2010 and it is our great pleasure to introduce her “North-Eastern French” style Down-Under!

Painting on wood workshop

French Moments is registering people’s interest for a practical workshop planned for July 2010 where you will learn how to paint on wood in the traditional Alsatian way. Suitable for everyone, the technique can be learnt over 1 full day and is a fun and creative workshop where you will go away with your own finished works of art! Marie-Christine, will be coming from France to run this course.

All paint and equipment will be provided. This course would be the perfect time to practice your French skills as it will be held in French. However, if you do not speak/understand French, the entire session will be interpreted into English so you will be able to understand everything!

Have a look at the slide show to see examples of this style of wood painting and if you are interested in being part of this workshop please email us. Dates, price and location will be confirmed closer to the time.
