We held a special evening event on the 30th November to celebrate Christmas and the beginning of Advent. Hawthorn Mosman (707 Military Road, Mosman, Corner of Gouldsbury St) served beautiful food and wine, and their restaurant was the perfect setting for everyone to sit around three long tables for a Christmas Dinner Party French style! A presentation on Christmas in France was made on the screen between courses and also a fun French Trivia Challenge with the prizes won by our students Debbie and Julieanne!
Dinner Party Menu
On arrival
House made chicken liver pâté on brioche with Cumberland sauce
Freshly shucked Sydney Rock Oysters
Smoked salmon on crostini with crème fraîche

Scallops in puff pastry with asparagus & champagne cream

Confit leg & breast of duck, sweet & sour red cabbage, sautéed potatoes with parsley, hazelnuts, blood orange sauce
served with a glass of Domaine du Vissoux ‘Cuvée Les Griottes’ Gamay, (Beaujolais) Burgundy, France

Brillat Savarin, fresh sourdough, dried fruits & quince paste
served with a glass of La Croix de L’Ermite ‘Les Chassis’,
Crôzes-Hermitage, Northern Rhône, France

Bûche de Noël au Grand Marnier served with rich chocolate ice cream

Beautiful canapés and soft drinks with a complimentary glass of French sparkling wine awaited the guests on arrival. Pierre opened the night with a short multi-media presentation on Bastille Day in France. The French Trivia Challenge was then launched by Antoine... fingers on the buzzer... with a prize for the winner!
