French Moments is based in Mosman on the Lower North Shore of Sydney, Australia and specialises in French lessons for all ages, as well as travel advice about France and cultural events.

about Pierre...

Pierre was born in Nancy, Lorraine and spent his childhood in Speyer, Germany before returning to France in Southern Alsace. Pierre has a vast teaching experience. He has taught at university level in France (BTS - Brevet de Technicien Supérieur) in Mulhouse and in Paris for the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

He has also taught at the Institut Français, a prestigious French language school in London, part of the French Foreign Affairs cabinet. His other teaching experiences in a well-renowned Parisian language school and in Sydney have enabled him to work with multinational companies, embassies as well as individuals. Now a French teacher in Sydney, Australia, he is establishing his own dream - French Moments.

Pierre holds a Master of Translating and Interpreting English-French with the degree of Master of International Relations and a degree of Economics and Management. Pierre is an accredited translator (english->french) by NAATI.

Favourite French dish: it has to be home-made French fries and delicious French patisserie!

Favourite French cheese: Reblochon.

Favourite French singer: this is a difficult question... maybe Patrick Fiori and Yannick Noah?

Favourite French topics: history, architecture, current affairs, and hiking in the Alps.

Favourite places in France: Paris, Savoie and Périgord (anywhere with mountains or beautiful chateaux and good cafés!).

Favourite French dish: that’s a hard one! Maybe confit de canard with braised red cabbage and potatoes... Crème brulée for dessert and a macaron from La Durée for afternoon tea (see Gourmet Paris).

Favourite French cheese: Beaufort or a local goats cheese.

Favourite French singer: maybe Chimène Badi and I admire Faudel for his creativity.

about Rachel...

Rachel is originally from England and fell in love with France at a young age! She is bilingual and worked in Paris for an American investment bank where she organised many sophisticated events. She was also involved in a London-based company which helped promote the Alsace region to the British market. She is passionate about all things French, especially French gastronomy and oversees the cultural events, marketing and French Savvy section. She is one of the key organisers behind the Trip to France 2012.
